Grey's Anatomy has returned! Finally!

It starts out very dramatic with Meredith getting beat up by her patient Lou, whose caring, fatherly personality flips 180 after his seizure. This results in Lou repeatedly beating up Meredith for what seems like an eternity while everyone in the hospital just does their thing like it's any other normal day. However, before this happened, Meredith requested a neuro consult as well as Owen, and Amelia chose to go to Owen because she's still upset with Meredith and neither are critical. Cue Meredith feeling resentment towards Amelia for not going to her first.

I thought it was ridiculous that no one noticed Meredith getting beat up. I realize that in April's case, you may not be able to hear it because she was trying to shock a patient's heart back into rhythm, but you can definitely feel the vibrations and see her getting thrown around like a rag doll. Like, hello? She's right next door! Completely ridiculous. Her nurse didn't even return from his task to check back up on Meredith.

Nonetheless, it was really sad. I loved how everyone came together to treat Meredith. Webber said specifically that Maggie can't treat Meredith because they're family but Alex is right when he says that they're all her family. Awww! So sweet!

Amelia was totally out of commission because she had broken her sobriety after learning about Meredith since she feels so guilty. I'm glad they both found the heart to try to understand each other and attempt to forgive one another. I feel like Meredith is more mature this time around and not as volatile as she was in the fall finale. I like this Meredith! Even though she was upset with Lou, she forgave him too after allowing him to come and apologize (I kind of felt like Lou wasn't heartfelt enough).

Kudos to Penny because even though Meredith treats her like crap, she seems to be the only one understanding Meredith's true needs!

I felt so bad for Meredith when her kids refused to hug her and touch her in that hospital scene. She was covered up in make-up and everything, so they must've been scared to hurt her. It was heartbreaking. Thank god her kids warmed up to her when she got back home.

Overall, this was a pretty good premiere. I wished it wasn't so centered on Meredith and addressed Owen and Rig and their problem with each other as well as April and Jackson's divorce. We were just delivered a whammy when we see April screaming at Jackson how disrespectful it was for her to be served with divorced papers without warning. Low blow there, Jackson. At least, it sorted out the Meredith-Amelia debacle. Until next tiime!

Enjoy!
