This is it—the episode where Scott goes head-to-head with the Beast (aka Sebastian). Well, long story short, the showdown is a little anticlimactic. You think there's going to be a long, epic battle, but nope! All the build-up throughout the season for a pretty easy fight. Freaking Parrish, who was SUPPOSED to battle it out with the Beast, didn't even last. After he hears/senses Lydia in trouble, the Beast beats him, and we don't see Parrish fight the Beast again. Okay, well, I guess Parrish does show up to hold the Beast down while Scott kills it with the pike.
Well, even though Scott delivered the final blow, Lydia is the one who really defeats the Beast. She is essentially the most important part of the plan. Everyone is counting on her to call out Mason's name, to separate him from the Beast. Well, she does, and all's well that ends well!
Kira comes back from the Skinwalkers to join the fight as well. She doesn't actually fight, but she does rescue Lydia. By the way, how did she know Lydia was in that room? More importantly, how did she know where everyone was? TV logic.
Theo appears to have been dragged down to hell. Serves him right for being the back-stabbing chimera that he is. It's too bad we probably won't see him again. Oh yeah, remember Deucalion? It turns out that he was actually working with Scott. I did not see that coming. Well, Gerard shoots Deucalion, and Argent and his dad have a little round-off. Gerard gets shot in the arm, but he'll live.
Malia, with the help of Stiles and Braeden, defeat the Desert Wolf, and everything truly ends well for our MCs.
I really liked the library scene at the end because it's so happy and sweet. Scott goes up to the shelf where he and Allison carved their initials, and it totally deserves and "Aww."
After that, Scott joins Stiles and Lydia at their table, and yeah—season 5 is over! It would've been better if Malia was with them, but I understand since they are what's left of the original friends.
