I totally misread this case. I thought the victim's mom was trying to get the killer a better plea deal because they were lovers or something?! Boy, was I way off. They aren't lovers at all. The reason why I thought they were was because the killer sends the mom and "I love you" message from the vic's phone. Talk about a misunderstanding. The mom genuinely wants to help out her son's killer because she believes in second chances blah, blah, blah.
It's pretty sad though since the killer admits to killing the vic on purpose and is sentenced to life imprisonment without parole, despite the mom's efforts to get him a better deal.
