At 11, Barry Allen's life changed completely when his mother died in a freak accident and his innocent father was convicted of her murder. The Flash is actually the spinoff of Arrow (aka the parent show). I highly recommend you watch Arrow because there are a bunch of #Flarrow crossovers, and don't you want to watch and enjoy both episodes of a crossover? Both shows are based on DC Comics characters, and they both usually have a "villain of the week" in addition to a main in addition to a main antagonist.
While The Flash focuses on Barry Allen/The Flash, Smallville is all about Clark Kent/Superman! Smallville is a classic. It's been around way before The Flash or Arrow. When it was still airing, it used to be my second favorite show (after TVD of course!), so it's totally a must watch! It has similar humor to the Flash and also has the "villain of the week" shtick. You can't say you love superhero shows with watching Smallville!
Legends is another spinoff, but this spinoff is a little different. Unlike its parent shows, Legends doesn't really have a "villain of the week." There's just one villain: Vandal Savage. It also stars characters from both Flash and Arrow. So if you like Firestorm (Professor Stein & Jax), Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders), Hawkman (Carter Hall), Heat Wave (Mick Rory), or Captain Cold (Leonard Snart) from the Flash, then you should totally watch Legends!
