Modern Family revolves around the ordinary lives of three families who are all related through Jay Pritchett: the Pritchett-Delgado family, the Dunphy family, and the Pritchett-Tucker family. There really is no plot whatsoever. It's just a show full of comedic situations and life lessons shot mockumentary style. Yes, that means that the characters are actually talking to the camera like they're in a documentary.

Modern Family is one those shows where you can watch an episode without having to watch the one before it (You should watch all the episodes though). I'm not really a fan of these types of shows because I love a good plot and Modern Family lacks one. However, despite Modern Family's lack of an ongoing story line, I still recommend this show if you're looking for a comedy!! It's one of the best one's out there! :)

Most of the humor in Modern Family is very silly and for lack of a better word, dumb. So I don't really enjoy it as much as my cousin Amy does. Amy absolutely LOVES this show for some reason. She enjoys the moronic and lame jokes cracked in every twenty-two minute episode. However, don't get me wrong. I do find some episodes quite humorous and enjoyable!!

Modern Family does have its fair share of morons, which I absolutely can't stand. Phil has got to be the most moronic of them all!! I think you'll understand once you've watched it.

Overall, this show is great if you're just looking for a quick laugh or something simple as a show to watch as you eat. If you like morons and dumb jokes like Amy, then this is the show for you!!

Characters:

Phil Dunphy: Phil is married to Claire and has three children: Haley, Alex, and Luke. He's always trying to be the fun dad and has a very dorky personality. He desperately wants the approval and love Claire's dad, Jay. HAHA, Phil's always making puns too!!

Claire Dunphy: Claire is married to Phil and has three children: Haley, Alex, and Luke. Claire is known to be a very uptight perfectionist.

Haley Dunphy: Haley is your average, stereo-typical blonde. Y'know, minus the fact that she's a brunette, but you get the idea. She's the oldest out of the three and she's a very fashion-oriented teenager with a ditsy personality. However, she's not the brightest crayon in the crayon box!

Alex Dunphy: Alex, being the middle child, is basically the total opposite of Haley. Alex only cares about school and awards and is the epitome of an overachiever.

Luke Dunphy: Luke is the youngest and the only son of Phil and Claire. His personality is very similar to Phil's in that they are always carrying out moronic ideas together.

Jay Pritchett: Jay is even more uptight than his daughter Claire. He's also Mitchell's dad and Manny's stepfather. He owns a very successful closet company and is currently married to his second, much younger wife Gloria.

Gloria Pritchett: Gloria is a hot-blooded Colombian who is currently married to Jay. She's much younger than Jay and is rumored to be younger than Claire. She has a very strong Colombian accent. HAHA GLORIA'S THE FUNNIEST CHARACTER!!!

Manny Delgado: Manny is the same age as Luke. He's somewhat intelligent and very refined and mature. He's Gloria's biological son.

Mitchell Pritchett: Mitchell is married to Cam and together they adopted Lily. Mitchell is also known to be uptight, but not as much as Claire or Jay.

Cam Tucker: Cam grew up on a farm and has a very bubbly personality. He's very dramatic and likes to be very showy.

Lily Tucker-Pritchett: Lily is the adopted Vietnamese child of Mitchell and Cam. She's known to be very sarcastic, which I absolutely love!! LILY'S ALSO VERY FUNNY!! :)
